Homemade Granola

Good morning! I hope you have had a lovely week and are currently having a great Sunday. Again, I have had a pretty normal “Mo” type of week. Let us try something new. When I make my own smoothie bowls, I love to put loads of granola in it because that is how I like it. Unfortunately, the good granola that I enjoy is around $10 and comes in a bag that probably only gives me three servings. I got tired of spending that money and only having granola for three days out of my week. I may be the only person with this issue but because of this issue of mine, I decided to make my own granola! Here it is :)

Before you start, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Here is that you need for the first step:

- Honey 2 tbsp

- Coco oil 2 tbsp

- Cinnamon 1 tbsp

- Coconut sugar 1.5 tbsp

Mix all these ingredients in a saucepan over low heat on the stove and stir slowly until it is a thin melted consistency.

For the second step:

- Oaks 2.5 cups

- Sunflower seeds .5 cup

- White quinoa .25 cup

- Chia seeds .25 cup

Mix all together in a medium sized mixing bowl.

Pour the “sauce” into the mixing bowl with the oat mixture and stir until it all starts to stick together and feels thick. Get a cookie sheet and cover with parchment paper. Pour the oat/sauce mixture onto the cookie sheet and spread out evenly. When the oven is ready at 350 degrees, put the sheet with the oat and sauce mixture in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the mixture is golden.

Take out the sheet when the oat color looks golden and let it cool! If you want a chunky granola, when you take the oats out of the oven to cool, immediately push the oats close together in the middle of the sheet in a little mound. Let it cool in that formation and then once it is cool you will be able to break it into chunks. If you want a more flaky granola, spread out the oats along the sheet and allow them to cool in that formation. Finally, put the granola in a container with a lid to store.

If you love granola try this out! You can even eat this as a cereal. Just add a hand full of berries, cut up some dates, and add some milk. That is one of my favorite ways to eat this, so yummy. Like always, make it your own and if you add something different let me know because I would love to try it. Have a great day and I will talk to you soon.

xx
